Your voice matters. Share it with the world.
An annual platform for Youth Thrivers to question, reflect, write and share perspectives on the issues shaping their communities and the wider world.
What would you change if people truly listened?
Ideas begin with noticing. Writing gives those ideas shape, clarity and a chance to reach someone else.
Writing can turn a personal thought into a public conversation.
The International Youth Day Essay Competition is an annual Thrive4Blacks initiative that gives young people a platform to express their ideas, experiences and perspectives on issues affecting their communities and the wider world.
Held in connection with International Youth Day, the competition encourages Youth Thrivers to explore important social and global issues through thoughtful written expression while developing confidence in communicating what they believe and why it matters.
Every strong essay starts before the first sentence.
The competition encourages participants to slow down, examine an issue and turn their perspective into writing that is thoughtful, clear and meaningful.
