Overview of Sessions

1. Exploring Black Excellence on a personal level: The objective of this session is to bring to the awareness of black teenagers that excellence is in them, like a seed that needs to be nurtured. This first session is an exploratory session, where participants are invited to collectively define “Black excellence”. Through this session, emphasis will be placed on some salient features that will both strengthen and distinguish our definition of excellence as blacks. This session will also spotlight notable blacks who have achieved excellence in history.  
2. Re-imagining self and planning for excellence: This session is a panel discussion that focuses on the journey to excellence of high-achieving black youth; their challenges and how they were able to attain excellence. It also aims to inspire participants to strive for excellence in their own lives, embracing their potential and aspirations. This panel discussion will help the participants to realize that black excellence is not only in our history, and that they too can achieve it.    
3. Cracking the codes for excellence: vision boarding: This is a life mapping session, where teenagers will learn how to get from where they are currently to where they need to be as excellent teenagers. This session will help participants tease out the excellence in them, and equip them with the skills needed to birth it. 
4. Group presentation: This session shall consist of the presentation of the vision board project of participants stemming from the third session and overall Program activities.
