Programs Coordinator

The Programs Coordinator oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of all Programming and Communication efforts while supervising the Youth Programs Coordinator, the Kid’s Programs Coordinator, and the Media Coordinator. The role reports to the Executive Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Programs Coordination

  1. Responsible for overall programming strategy and aligning programs with organizational mission and goals.
  2. Responsible for the delivery of the following annual Special Events;
    • Heritage & Cultural Expressions Festival (Early Summer)
    • Vocational/Entrepreneurship Program (Mid-Summer)
    • Volunteering Drive & Community Service Initiative (Fall)
    • Program Improvement Retreat (December)
  3. Accountable for the following core Youth Programs, by essentially supervising and directly supporting the
    Youth Programs Coordinator in the delivery of:
    • Youth Leadership Forum (Monthly)
    • Youth Community Engagement Skills Workshops (Quarterly)
    • Youth Financial Literacy Workshop (Quarterly)
  4. Accountable for the following core Kids Programs, by essentially supervising and directly supporting the Kids
    Programs Coordinator in the delivery of:
    • Kids Story Telling and Book Forum (Monthly)
    • Kids Financial Literacy Workshop (Quarterly)
  5. Accountable for Volunteer Management.

B. Communications Coordination

  1. Responsible for overall programming strategy and aligning programs with organizational mission and goals.

KEY DELIVERABLES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Prepare and submit detailed quarterly programming updates, including performance on budgets, timelines,
    and volunteer contributions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quarterly communication/outreach updates, including social media analytics.
  • Actively participate in regular operations and program meetings to align efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to advancing the mission and vision of Thrive4Blacks through dedicated support and collaboration.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATION

  • Demonstrated experience managing and facilitating targeted not-for-profit programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing personnel, resources, and processes.
  • Experience working with immigrants &/or refugees and understanding youth and kid’s issues.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural setting and practice cultural humility

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This is a full-time position 40 hours/week.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.
  • Work will be virtual, with limited in-person.
  • Program delivery activities will require full attention and priority.
  • A clean vulnerable sector criminal record check is required.
